Harvest season is here, and with it comes some of the most exciting fruit of the year. At Coordinates Vineyards, we’re bringing in Texas Tempranillo and Sangiovese from Whistlestop Vineyards in the High Plains alongside estate-grown Tannat from our own vineyard in Hye. Each of these varietals tells a story of place, climate, and patience.

Sangiovese: Arriving Fresh from the High Plains

The Sangiovese has just arrived, and the numbers look fantastic. From the first bins, you can feel the balance with firm skins, healthy clusters, and the promise of a structured wine built to age. Barrels are already en route, preparing to cradle this wine until it’s ready to be shared with you in a few years.

Tempranillo: Texas Tradition

Tempranillo thrives in the High Plains climate, with its warm days and cool nights. It’s one of Texas’ flagship grapes, and this year’s fruit is no exception. We’re excited to continue building on its reputation, crafting a wine that reflects both the boldness of Texas terroir and the finesse of this classic Spanish varietal.

Tannat: Estate Roots in Hye

Closer to home, our estate Tannat is developing beautifully. Known for its dark fruit character and age-worthy tannins, Tannat is at the heart of our vineyard story here in Hye. To see the vines we’ve nurtured produce this fruit is both humbling and thrilling.  Each cluster is a reminder of the long journey from bud to harvest.  See the Behind the Scenes video from this year’s harvest on our socials.

Beyond the Crush: What’s Coming Next

Patience is the key in winemaking, and while these reds will take their time (look for release in 2027), there’s plenty happening right now at Coordinates Vineyards.

Events in the Hill Country

Wine is best enjoyed together, and fall is a season of gathering at Coordinates Vineyards.

Both our Main Street tasting room in Fredericksburg and our Vineyard Farmhouse in Hye are ready to welcome you. The Fredericksburg location offers the charm of a historic blacksmith shop just steps from the Nimitz Museum, while the Hye farmhouse sits among the vines on US-290, offering vineyard views under century-old oak trees coordinatesvineyards.com.
