Planning a wine tasting in Fredericksburg or Hye, Texas? Here are answers to the most common questions about visiting Coordinates Vineyards, including tastings, reservations, dry white wines, sparkling wines, our new Pinot Grigio, and our two locations in the Texas Hill Country.

Do I need a reservation for wine tasting?

Reservations are recommended for weekends and busy afternoons, but walk-ins are always welcome based on availability. You can reserve your tasting here for either location.

What are your tasting options and pricing?

We offer three tasting experiences, each featuring 4 wines with generous 2 oz pours:

• White & Sparkling Tasting — $25
• Reserve Red Tasting — $35
• NEW Bubbles Tasting — $40*

You do not need to choose now. Our team will guide you through the experience when you arrive. Book your tasting in advance for the best availability.

What wines are you known for?

Coordinates Vineyards is known for Pinotage, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and traditional method sparkling wines. Our portfolio features award-winning wines from Texas, California, and South Africa.

What is Pinotage and why is it special?

Pinotage is a red wine originally from South Africa and is rarely found in Texas tasting rooms. It offers bold fruit flavors, smooth tannins, and a unique profile that sets it apart from more common varietals.

Where are your tasting rooms located?

We have two locations in the Texas Hill Country:

• Fredericksburg, Texas — Located on Main Street in a historic blacksmith building
• Hye, Texas — A vineyard farmhouse along the Highway 290 wine trail

Which location should I visit?

Both locations offer the same wines but different experiences. Our Fredericksburg tasting room is ideal for walkable wine tasting downtown, while our Hye location offers a vineyard setting with open views and a slower-paced experience.

Are you part of the Texas Hill Country wine trail?

Yes. Our Hye location is located directly on the Highway 290 wine trail, one of the most popular wine tasting destinations in Texas.

Can we walk in or do we need to book?

Walk-ins are welcome at both locations. However, reservations are recommended for weekends, groups, and peak travel times. You can reserve your tasting here.

Do you offer outdoor seating?

Yes. Both locations offer indoor and outdoor seating. Fredericksburg features a grape arbor patio, while Hye offers vineyard views and outdoor seating around the farmhouse.

Are you pet and family friendly?

Yes. We welcome both pets and families at our tasting rooms.

Do you serve food?

We offer light bites and charcuterie options designed to pair with our wines.

Do you offer wine by the glass?

Yes. In addition to tastings, we offer wines by the glass or bottle, including sparkling options and seasonal favorites. We have 5 dry whites available by the glass, perfect for the Texas heat.

What is your happy hour?

We offer happy hour daily from 4–6pm with special pricing on select wines by the glass, including our signature Frosé.

Do you offer drinks besides wine?

We are only permitted for wine, so no beer or spirits.  We do have some wine cocktails, Coordinates Refreshers, that are well received by those new to wine or looking for something cold and delicious.

Do you have a wine club?

Yes. Coordinates Vineyards offers four wine club options. Navigator, Captain and Traveler memberships include complimentary glasses or tastings at both locations, member pricing, club-exclusive wines and event benefits. Explorer Club is our simpler curated option, with three wines chosen by us twice a year at one predictable price and no minimum term after joining.

Are tasting fees waived with wine club signup?

Yes, for Navigator, Captain and Traveler members. Complimentary glasses or tastings are available at both Coordinates locations according to your membership level. Explorer Club does not include complimentary glasses or tastings.

Can you ship wine?

Yes. We ship wine to eligible states across the U.S. Traveler members receive complimentary shipping on qualifying 12-bottle club shipments. Explorer Club shipments are $135 plus tax, including our subsidized flat-rate shipping.
