We purchased this 100 year old farmhouse last Fall and have been working hard to turn it from a 5 bedroom Airbnb into a world class wine tasting room. It’s been a lot of work and a lot of fun digging through the treasures this property holds, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
Once located directly next to the road, the entire house was moved about 800 feet, 8 years ago. I would have loved to have seen them do that! We bought the house with everything in it, and these old bones have got some stories to tell. The Dickie family built the home in 1924 and had enough kids to create they’re own baseball team! So that’s just what they did, and wouldn’t you know it, even LBJ came to watch a game.
The house has indoor seating for up to 60 guests, 4 covered porches that seat an additional 40, and amble outdoor space underneath the beautiful shaded oak trees for up to 100 more. We have an outdoor stage for musicians, picnic tables to enjoy your food and wine, and the property is heavily seeded with wildflowers for a truly gorgeous view.
This amazing property is located right in the heart of Texas Wine Country just a block from the Hye Post Office and William Chris Vineyards, and across the street from Hye Meadow Winery. There’s a small Tannat vineyard in front of the farmhouse that will be a great way for guests to learn more about what it takes to turn grapes into wine. We encourage you to experience the vineyard and take a walk down the pathway through the vines.
